John L. Monroe
Compliance Programs Manager
Since joining the Foundation for Fair Contracting in January 2016, and drawing upon years of experience conducting thousands of job-site worker interviews in various industries, John has partnered with Building Trades volunteers and government contracting and enforcement champions to achieve more than $2 million in restitution judgments for underpaid construction workers in the greater Baltimore/DC region. A fierce advocate for high-road contractors, tax payers and workers alike, John’s passion for promoting a level-playing field, quality construction and bona fide workforce development runs deep. As a member of the DC Department of Employment Services Wage & Hour Advisory Board, John helps strategize on best practices for strengthening public education efforts, and as a 10+ year Big in the Big Brothers Big Sisters youth mentoring program, John believes in the power and reward of volunteerism.
